Galway Girls in all their finery, on Ladies Day Galway Race week 2019, showing off their splendid beauty on a beautiful summer’s day. These beautiful boats are called Galway Hookers and were traditionally used by the fishermen,on Galway Bay and the coast of Clare. They are still used today. The Hooker was developed for the strong seas there. The Galway descendants still sail these boats for work and pleasure. This scene is at The Spanish Arch Galway. On the Wild Atlantic Way. Oil on canvas, painted with the brush.
